Celebrating tradition while driving sustainable retrofitting across Ireland

A 412-Year Tradition in the Heart of Kerry

Puck Fair 2025 is just around the corner – and as Ireland’s oldest festival, it continues to draw thousands of visitors to Killorglin, Co. Kerry. Now in its 412th year, this three-day celebration (10th–12th August) brings together tradition, music, family gatherings and community spirit.

In recent years, however, the festival has been embracing a new theme that’s close to our hearts – sustainability.

Why Sustainability Matters - For Festivals and Homes Alike

As a Killorglin-based SEAI One Stop Shop and the 2025 Retrofit Company of the Year, Retrofit Design Ltd is proud to be part of a community making positive changes for the environment.

Just as Puck Fair blends heritage with innovation, our work in home energy retrofit Ireland helps protect our shared future:

  • Reducing carbon footprints
  • Improving BER ratings to B2 or better
  • Lowering heating bills for homeowners
  • Preserving older homes while making them energy efficient

Through the SEAI One Stop Shop and Better Energy Homes schemes, we make sustainable retrofitting simple – managing everything from the Home Energy Assessment to grant applications and project delivery.

"Retrofitting isn’t just about energy savings - it’s about preserving Ireland’s housing heritage for generations to come.”

Preserving the Past, Protecting the Future

Much like the crowning of King Puck honours centuries of tradition, upgrading Ireland’s housing stock respects our heritage while preparing for the decades ahead. By retrofitting older properties, we make homes warmer, healthier, and more energy efficient – without losing their character.
